Hi friends! How’s your Thursday going?
I have a few things I’m excited about today. One, the weekend is RIGHT around the corner and two, the four-day weekend is RIGHT around THAT corner.
I know it’s probably a little pre-mature to be excited about a four-day weekend, but we aren’t getting much sleep right now, so four-days to relax… what more could a new mommy want?!?
New mommy of this guy…
Huey is awesome, but he wakes up a couple of times a night to go outside and is totally awake and raring to go at 5:30. It’s cool with me, but I’ll admit I’m pretty tired;)
I feel like in that picture, he’s looking at me saying… “Enough with the pictures already!”
He’s totally worth it. I wouldn’t have it any other way:) So with that… I think you know what’s coming…
I’m thankful for Huey. He’s become my little ray of sunshine each day. Not only do I love him more than anything in the world, together we’ve gotten to be good friends with our new neighbors and their dogs. We both have new friends! Win-win.
I am thankful the weekend is right around the corner… duh. See above.
I am thankful for the beautiful, amazing bridal shower I had last weekend.
First off, as you can see, the decor was beautiful! Also, I had all my Houston friends there, plus my mom and Allison (one of my bridesmaids) there, so it made it all the more special.
I am thankful for a really cool event I get to go to tonight. It is a work networking event for women in our industry and it’s a night with Chef Monica Pope! I do not know who that is (for right now, I’ll Google her in a second), but how cool is that?!? I am very excited about it. If I don’t get too wrapped up in the moment, I’ll try to take pictures.
I am thankful for Google…
Named 2009’s Best Chef at the Houston Culinary Awards, Monica Pope is a 2007 James Beard Award Nominee for Best Chef: Southwest and the owner of t’afia and Beaver’s in Houston. The only Texas woman to ever be named a Top 10 Best New Chef by Food & Wine Magazine (1996), Pope first learned to cook from her Czech grandmother and went on to earn her Chef’s title from Prue Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London.
Now I know a little about her;) and I’m much more excited!
I am thankful for the day I can start running with Huey. He needs some time before he’s ready for that, but I’m really looking forward to running together. I’m 99% positive he’ll have the energy;)
Alrighty, your turn! What are you thankful for on this Thankful Things Thursday? It can be AAAAAAAAAAAAAAANYTHING you want!
