Thankful Things Thursday: Spinning, Running Whenever, and Mom

I am so ready for the weekend… but, before I can enjoy that, it’s Thankful Thursday! And, then there’s Friday too, but it’s right around the corner;)  That’s a good thing.  Shall we?

I am thankful for spinning.  Did I say that last week already?  I’m not sure, but in case I didn’t, here it is listed again.

The bikes at LA Fitness are the best!  Yep, they are the newer spin bikes that look like this.

I love this bike, because it’s super easy to see what gear you are in.  You can see how far you’ve biked, how many calories you’ve burned, and what RPM you are at.  All on that little thingy.

I am thankful I rode just over 20 miles last night.  Before spin class, I made that goal for myself:)  Granted, you see there I was on the bike for 67 minutes, so while I was waiting for the class to start and warming up I got two miles in… but, it still counts toward the total and I hit my goal:)

I am thankful for my new Nike jacket.  I have already worn it so many times and I’m preeeeeeeeeeeeeeet-ty sure I’m going to get another one in another color, because I love it so much.  All you ever need in Houston (for the most part) is a light jacket, which means… this jacket is PERFECT!

I am thankful for an upcoming vacation.  Period, enough said;)

I am thankful I had time to go enjoy Alcatraz while I was in San Francisco.  That picture (below) would actually be prettier without me in it, but oh well… proves I was there if nothing else;)  Anyway, the real reason I am so thankful I got to go was that it was so interesting.  They had one exhibit that really stuck with me…  I feel like you should see if you can.  It was life-size pictures of Alcatraz prisoners, who are still living, and out and living totally normal lives.  There were five of them, and all had committed crimes that were heinous enough to land them at Alcatraz.  Hard to believe… but, interesting to see how they had made such a drastic change in their lives.

I am thankful I am getting my hair done tonight.  It’s time for full-highlights.  These are expensive, so I try to stick with partials, but at some point (and I’ve hit it) you have to suck it up and pay for the full.  Oh, I’m also thankful they have girly magazines and wine at the salon;)

I am thankful I got to go to the rodeo… twice!  I don’t think I’ll get to go again this year.  Evan and I are both super busy, but I am glad we got to go twice in the first week.  We will have to wait a full year to go again! Yes, we will live;)

I am thankful Evan is here to eat the middle part of the Roasted Red Pepper Spicy Hummus I love.  I love the outside, but the middle part where the spicy part is, I can’t eat.  It was waaaaaaaaay too hot for me.  Well, now that Evan is here… none of it goes to waste:)  We make a great team!

I am thankful I don’t have a race this weekend and can run whenever I feel like it.  I’ve been waiting for a weekend like this!  While I L-O-V-E racing, it’s nice to have a break and just go to the park in the afternoon or whenever you feel like it.  I know I want to get in six miles this weekend, but the beauty of it is that I can do it WHENEVER I want.  It doesn’t have to be Saturday at 8 or Sunday at 7;)

I am thankful for my mom.  She knows I love her, but I might as well tell the world!  I needed a little tough love (well, that’s what it turned into kind of) at one point this week and she was there for me… and, of course, she was right, too:)

I am thankful Evan doesn’t mind doing the dishes.  Let me explain… I loooooooooove to make dinner for us, but for some reason hate to do the dishes right afterwards.  Dishes in the sink overnight has never been something that has bothered me.  I always do them in the morning the next day.  I think my mom might do that too, I’m not sure.  ANYWAY, it’s been really nice because Evan doesn’t mind doing the dishes after dinner when I cook.  SCORE! Dinner and dishes done in one night… what more could a girl ask for?!?!

YOUR TURN!!! What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful that my body allows me to run long and run often without breaking down! I like your blog – found you on Healthy Living Blogs. I grew up in St. Louis as well and live there again now. You look really familiar so I have to ask the typical St. Louis ‘Where did you go to high school?’ question :) .
