Front Page News

I’m just stopping in to say hello super quick.  I decided to join LA Fitness for 30 days and see HOW and IF I like it.  Most of you know, I’ve stayed at my apartment complex gym, because it’s nice and convenient, plus I am a morning workout girl, so it was super easy to just head over there.

HOWEVER, lately, I have REALLY missed group classes.  As in, like, I was itching to get back in to classes. Spinning, pilates, I was missing ALL of them.  That, to me, meant it was time.  I went in thinking that I ONLY wanted 30-days because you never know if you are going to like the instructors, the facilities, etc…

I have a strange attachment to my gym in St. Louis and no gym in Houston yet has matched it.  SO, here’s to hoping this 30-days works out.

Oh yeah, and the big news for the day… I was interviewed YESTERDAY for a FRONT PAGE article in the Houston Chronicle today! 

When I agreed to be interviewed about the Houston housing market, I had NO CLUE it was going to be on the front page, but by about 7 a.m. I had a lot of people calling to see how in the world I made it into “The Chronicle.” 

Here’s the shortened version of how I got on the “front page (Houston) news”: You all know Evan and I have been looking for a house.  I’m not sure I talked too in detail on the blog about how hard and stressful it was, mostly because I don’t want to bore you all and I like to keep it upbeat (try to anyway).  ANYWAY, during it, I was a massive stress-ball (super annoying probably for the people around me) and things really weren’t going our way.  It was hard and exhausting. 

But, moving on, our realtor asked if one of us (Evan or me) would be willing to talk to a journalist doing a story on the super difficult housing market in Houston (difficult in that inventory is low and options of homes to buy is scarce).  As many of you know, I was a journalist… I have my Master’s from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism.  I KNOW how hard it can be to find sources.  Sometimes, it’s super hard.  SO, I volunteered right away!

Well, a day later… I’m front page news:) See the first two words…

As you all know, and the article ends with… it all worked out for Evan and me.  We DID find our dream house!
